Parents
So I saw my daddy today. He took me out to lunch for seafood alfredo which was delicious. I haven't seen my parents in months. My mom who is running for State Rep has been campaigning and she goes to events daily, so she wasn't able to make it. Supposedly [supposedly], they are supposed to come up the weekend of the 7th with the rest of my furniture...otherwise I'll just keep pushing back my housewarming. I want my house to be furnished and decorated pretty for the event. But back on the point I was making...it was nice to see my dad. I've missed my parents.
My After-Work Date
So scroll all the way down to the very first blog and you'll read about my email conversation with said guy. He asked me out and we have set the date for Thursday after work. I'm not too sure about him. I'm sort of gullible, okay I am gullible and I also trust people too easily. He has said a few things to make me question him, but I want to give him the benefit of the doubt. In the last four emails that we exchanged, he told me that he worked for the maintenance crew/janitorial services at Presby Plano. I thought it was strange because in his myspace pictures, he has a picture of him getting his degree and I just couldn't believe that he was doing janitorial work...not that there's anything wrong with it...but I was put off. Yes it's true...women do want men with jobs...but we want men with jobs that give them motivation and inspiration. He later (in another email) told me he was doctor, a GP for a family practice inside of Presby, and told me he was "testing the waters" to see what I'd say. Now I'm not so sure...is he telling me this because he's embarrassed? Or is he a nut? Or is he really a doctor and was he really pulling my leg? If I turn up dead, please find him and hunt him down.
My New Workout and Goal
So...I'm getting fat. Maybe not to everyone else's standards...but I feel fat. A coworker of mine and I are starting a new diet...to include at least 30 minutes a day of workout and eating healthy. Two years ago I lost 52 pounds and maintained my weight for those two years...but now I've gained back 10 pounds and I'm not happy. I want to lose about 40 pounds...supposedly if you're 6ft...you're supposed to weigh in between 160 and 180. So...if I can get to the lower end of that...I'd be just fine. Plus I also want to get down to the size I was in high school. I can't wait for the results! It's kind of nice when people do double takes of you when they haven't seen you in awhile and realize that you look just a little different then they rememberd you before. Yay!
My Boss/My Job/My Poor Self
So I'm job hunting. I'm not making enough. And my boss...well...I feel like I'm doing all the work. So I'm looking and I'm pretty excited about one opportunity. It's in the academic area and it's roughly $35K more than what I'm making now...WHICH IS AWESOME!!!!! Plus I'd get all of those vacation days during the holidays and spring break...I want to go to Brazil for my birthday! So wish me luck on that one.
Well...I have some serious work to do...I want to get out of here by 6:30p...in time to have dinner and drinks with a friend. Have a good night!

damn
He's so sexy. I wish he knew how I felt about him. Doh! Most times I see him...I just want to back him into a corner and rip his clothes off. Geez....
girl's scouts are the devil!
Cookies that is.
I think a man must have come up with the idea...I mean what woman would have come up with selling cookies that are so cliche-good that you eat them all in one setting?
I think I just consumed 600 calories. Ugh...and I was just yelling at myself this morning at how fat I think I've become.
Someone...please slap me on the hand!

homeowner
So yesterday was the first real time I felt like a homeowner. I'm not exactly sure why yesterday's events would have triggered such a feeling...but it did.
One of my coworkers came over for a day of relaxation and girl time. We made a veggie tray with homemade ranch dip and defeated the purpose of all of the veggies and later had chocolate fondue with strawberries, bananas and apples. Not to mention the GREAT mimosas that we had.
Anyways...we put everything on neat, fancy trays and sat in my gameroom watching movies...I guess I just felt like this is it...this is my life. I'm getting to eat chocolate fondue in MY gameroom.
I'm a dork...I must confess. :o)

i'm not voting for hillary because she's a woman...i'm voting for her because i am!
My mommy sent this to me in hopes of making me feel better. It did.
Endorsement: Time to clean house
The Daily Texan
As voters, we're often torn between our hearts and our minds when making crucial decisions concerning the welfare of the country. This endorsement is no different.
In the past year, we have been entranced by the powerful timbre of Barack Obama's voice. We have felt our hearts soar with each progressive idea he has put forth, especially his call for youth action and enrollment in public service programs. But we do not think he is the wisest choice for president. George W. Bush has made a mess of America, and we believe Hillary Clinton is the best person to clean it up. She is prepared and willing to be a leader who is "a lot less hat and a lot more cattle," as she stated during Thursday night's debate.
Clinton is a seasoned politician, and some argue that works against her. But Bush has been wildly successful in destroying every positive function of the machine that is Washington, D.C., and Clinton has the political tools and knowledge to fix it.
We have admired the consistent integrity of Obama's campaign. He is everything a politician shouldn't be, meaning that we think he is a good human being. To truly be a leader we can look up to, Clinton should learn from her refined opponent's style.
But during Thursday's debate, Obama made a major gaffe in incorrectly stating that he had received endorsements from every major newspaper in Texas. We may not be considered a "major" paper to many, but we represent a crucial constituency of close to 50,000 young and enthusiastic voters, and we've been scrutinizing every move of the candidates leading up to today's endorsement. Sure, Obama took many under his spell when he graced our city with his presence early in his campaign, but we think he prematurely considered his work in Austin done.
We've taken into account our communication with each campaign as an indication of how each candidate's government would function. Upon finding out the debate would not be open to students, Obama's campaign told us there was nothing they could do to get more students into the debate, whereas the Clinton camp was sympathetic in offering assistance. This makes us wonder how far Obama would go for us as president.
The youth vote, especially here in Texas, is extremely important to both candidates. As Texas, Austin and UT have all entered the limelight as major players in the nomination process, we have been confused by Obama's relative absence from the home of such an important, excited and loyal constituency.
Clinton, while not as dazzling as her opponent, has asserted her presence to us. She has pledged to restore government support to college students by increasing the availability of Stafford Loans and Pell Grants. Her outline for a universal health care system is thorough and sound, while Obama unfairly exploits the resounding term "universal" in terms of his plan, which is voluntary and wouldn't actually serve America in its entirety (like Social Security, policy can only be universal if it is mandatory). Furthermore, Clinton's plans for Iraq ensure a gradual transition to stability for the Middle East.
Clinton's abrasiveness, while somewhat off-putting, is essential in scrubbing our country clean of the grime the current administration has let build up. And by promising that the clean-up will begin in full effect on day one of her presidency, she's proved to us over and over again that she's ready, even excited, to get her hands dirty. Meanwhile, Obama's curent focus is geared toward winning the nomination, and we need more than hope and rhetoric to be reassured that the critical transition to come with the next presidency will be handled safely.
We live each day in anticipation of Democratic leadership for this country. But considering the current state of America, now is not the time for radical change.
We'd like to see Obama and Clinton work together in achieving the many goals they share. Obama has our confident vote in four (or eight) years' time. But for now, we can't risk trusting the judgment of our hearts. Logically, Hillary Clinton should be the next president of the United States. Under her leadership, we can return to being the great country we once were.

I'm such a nerd!
Devin
So I had my first really girl moment of the year two nights ago. I found a field mouse in my garage. It was about an inch and a half long and it looked dead (or so I thought). I immediately called my mom and started freaking out and on the other end...she's cracking up laughing.
She hands the phone to my dad...and he proceeds to tell me that I live in the country and that THIS will happen, but that I need to get rid of it, because I definitely don't want it in my house.
He tells me to find a broom (which I don't have, because I haven't bought one yet), or something long to shove the poor guy out with. I asked him if my chimney shovel would work...he said yes...and I tell my dad to hang on. I put my phone down and started screaming...not because anything was happening...but because I was so weirded out. If this is what a new house means...I want out.
So I get over to the mouse...I'll call him Devin, and I try to shovel him up. Turns out he was alive...so that scares me even more because he's moving and I start screaming again. I told my dad I couldn't do it and he screamed at me telling me I was 26-years-old and 6ft and that the mouse wasn't going to hurt me.
Needless to say...he handed the phone to my mother (who was still laughing) and told her he couldn't deal with my whining anymore.
Long story short...I got Devin out...and threw him over the fence *shudders*...poor guy.
Kids
So I was at Wally World yesterday picking up a taco mix and ready-to-bake cookie mix for my girl's night with Dolli and Stephenie. I'm walking down the aisle and this cute little girl is holding her father's hand and she talking really loud...spouting off something about some disney character coming to Dallas, Texas. She's not making much sense...but her father this whole time...is saying, "uh huh" and "yeah" and "oh okay". I doubt he understood either...but it was cute how attentive he was being.
So I know I've said practically all my life...that I never want kids...I sort of do and sort of don't. At 30...if I'm not yet married, etc...I'd like to adopt a kid. Financially stable has to be in the picture of course though. There I said it...I really do want a kid. Ugh.
Salt and Pepper
So I was listening to one of my many [copied] CDs and Shake it Like a Salt Shaker played. So there are two different types of salt shakers...the fancy ones where you turn the knob and the salt and pepper pours out and the generic-everyone-has-these-kind-up-and-downward-motion shakers...just exactly how do you "shake it like a salt shaker"...and which shaker are they talking about?

In a perfect world...
In a perfect world...soccer moms of three, driving their huge ass TXU/firetruck-lookin' vehicles, while talking on the phone, wouldn't even think to pull in front of me going 50 mph while I'm trying to go my normal speed of 90 mph on the freeway.
In a perfect world...men wouldn't stare at you when you walked into a room, then continue to stare at you for the rest of the night and end up bumping into something or knocking something over [because they were looking at you]...without even saying a word. Hello! It's called...stop being a punk...and come talk to me. I don't bite.
In a perfect world...women drivers wouldn't drink coffee and try to put on mascara while trying to drive at high speeds on the freeway either. AND NO...I'm not talking about myself...I'm talking about these 50-year-old nimwited women who can't drive. Anyways...I put my mascara on at home!
In a perfect world...there would be a G-D freakin' EASY button.
In a perfect world...donuts would be calorie free.
In a perfect world...there wouldn't be any traffic along my route...Custer to Renner...and Renner to 75...and 75 to Forest Lane. No wait...scratch that. In a perfect world...I'd be able to apparate.
In a perfect world...the ticket that I keep extending my court date on would just go away.
In a perfect world...$99 would just appear in my pocket so I could buy this wonderful double-breasted, winter white Jackie-O lookin' coat.
In a perfect world...my boss (who is probably 30 or 40 years older than me...) wouldn't ask me how to put a signature on her email messages or ask me how to print something or work something out on her computer when I'm trying to beat a huge deadline.
In a perfect world...I'd be making (income wise) what I'm worth and not a penny less.
In a perfect world...my credit card debt would just disappear on its own.
In a perfect world...money would grow on MY tree and I could buy whatever decorative item I wanted for my house...even Julian's "Four Corners"
Okay....dreams over! Get back to work....*sigh*
