so i went to see Wanted on Saturday night and it was the best f-ing movie ever. i want to learn how to curve a freakin' bullet now. it also made me realize how i regret not applying for the fbi like i've always wanted to when i was younger. do 27-year-olds even apply at this age? i think i'd love the action...that's if i didn't get some boring desk job.
anyways...i know i said i wouldn't...but i have to. when i was just about to say f-it to dating and f-it to thinking that there we no good men out there...i met one. he's really a sweet guy and i'm glad that he came into my life.
so supposedly my friend E and i are going to shreveport...for july 4th. haven't decided whether or not we'll stay the night or go down just for the day and whatnot. i'd be cool just going to oklahoma for a little bit of $.01 machine time too.
AND...i cannot wait for schlitterbahn...i'm going next weekend! my best friend goes every year with her family and i get an invite every year and i'm stoked...[again]. can't wait till i go for my birthday in august.
well that is all i had to report on. amber...i'm getting back into writing blogs...expect one every week. :o)

it's been a minute
wow.
how long has it been since i wrote on here?
time has whisked by so fast and i can't even account for what i've been doing this whole time.
i'm doing things differently this year. now that i'm 27, it's all about choices and goals. and making the right ones and completing them.
1) quitting stein mart
2) working (part-time) for a u.s. rep or state rep or any candidate for that matter in my degree plan.
3) finding a new job damnit
4) taking the GRE
5) pursuing a masters in international public relations
6) learning how to speak portugese, spanish and french (better)
7) losing weight
8) getting to a size 10...the size i graduated high school with
9) start dating white guys (yes i said it...and please don't start thinking i'm a racist...it's just a decision i want to make)
10) being happy
so...i'm pretty close to number two...and as soon as I get some work...number one can be crossed off my list.
i'm going to schlitterbahn for my birthday in august and i can't wait. if anyone who reads this (whom i know and speak with) wants to go...just let me know.
27 years of me. i ate playdough for the first four, studied for the next 18 and have lived an okay life the rest. i dont think i did half bad. happy birthday me.
And by the way...see below...i've drank all the water and i'm on to a new bottle. :o)

my men
so i think i go through men like water...in fact there's no thinking about the situation...i do. almost every day i'm thinking about a new one, or crushing on a new one. let me break down the men in my life right now.
Name: Mr. So Cal
Age: 24
Race: Black and Japanese
Location: Southern California
About Him: He's a bum (a hot one at that). He's been acting like one for the past year. His parents have money and he's been living off of them so he can decide what he wants to do with his life. He has a college degree and even had a decent job before he decided to call it quits and take up surfing. We have been talking [again] for several months now and he's decided he wants to move back home and start a new life and possibly date me. This scares me...because if you look below...I have too many choices. Am I ready? Am I realizing that maybe I don't like him as much as I used to? This is where I feel I have commitment issues. I'll keep you posted.
Name: Mr. Illustrator
Age: 25
Race: Black
Location: Dallas, TX
About Him: He is just supposed to be a "friend"...but I don't know. There's something about him that's so captivating. I need to stop going for the artsy types. I need to stop finding great maker-outer-ers. ;o)
Name: Mr. 6'10"
Age: 26
Race: White
Location: Atlanta, GA
About Him: His gorgeous green eyes and blond hair could make any girl's heart flutter. He is my email buddy. He and I have been talking on myspace for quite some time. He recently got out of a long relationship and well we've just been talking it up. He's a really sweet guy. The drawback is that he lives in Atlanta...but I sure have been looking for jobs out of Texas...you never know. Atlanta has always been calling my name. Maybe one day.
Name: Mr. Kriminal Lawyer
Age: 29
Race: Black
Location: New Orleans/Dallas
About Him: He's studying to be a lawyer at Tulane. I'm not too thrilled that he's a Kappa...not trying to do the whole date the fraternity guy. But whatever. When he's said that he'd call...he did. Brownie point number one. Plus he calls me sweetie pie, sweetheart, sends me text messages in the morning that go something like this, "hey beautiful just wishing you a great day". While I'm not one for all the mushyness...it's kind of nice. Hopefully he is not killing me with Kappa Charm and he really is a nice, genuwine guy. He usually comes home to visit every other weekend...he's coming home Memorial Day weekend...and we've already planned a date.
Well this is my dilemma...I will keep you posted on how everything goes with each. Right now...I'm liking number 2 and 4 the best.

a random ass blog about stuff i've been thinking about
work
so my boss isn't here today and i love it. the silence is VERY golden. plus...when she's not here, i get a lot more work done. you'd think i'd slack off or something...but i don't.
job search
today is the day that i also need to get on the grind to look for another job. i guess i've been procrastinating for god knows what reason. i really just need to suck it up and realize that the academic job didn't want me, i guess that goes to show you can't get everything you want.
my foot
so i think i've shattered the heel of my right foot. is that possible? whenever i put pressure on it or walk on it...it hurts like f-ing hell. but surely if i had shattered it...i wouldn't be able to walk on it right? i just feel like i've really strained it. god it hurts.
myspace
is it really worth it? myspace and facebook. it's just a waste of time. plain and simple. it's not like i use the damn thing for networking purposes. i mean all in all, i think i spend at least 24 hours a week on myspace. that's ridiculous. what the hell am i looking at? i don't forsee love in my future...and even though two of my closest friends (that met on myspace) are tying the knot in less than two weeks in Jamaica, i don't see that happening for me. don't get me wrong. i've met a lot of great guys...and i wouldn't change that...but it's time consuming and stupid...and for some reason i can't seem to let it go. is it because i don't want to grow up yet? what the hell were we doing pre-myspace? enjoying life just like we should still be doing. what have we gained from facebook and myspace coming into our lives? and why am i having such a problem with it now?
rent-a-dad
i need a rent-a-dad. so i've found a small sugar ant problem in my house. these little critters are coming in through a crack in between my wall and my floor (i think). the dr horton guy told me to get some home defense (a gallon jug thingy that sprays) and to caulk up the cracks. i'm such a girl when it comes to this shit. so i need a man...(ugh...did i just say that?)...to help me. not do it...but help me. who's coming through?
bad weather
okay...first it was myamar and the horrible cyclone that killed 28K and possibly more...not to mention that two million will probably die from starvation and disease; then there were tornadoes that hit in Oklahoma, Missouri and Georgia killing 38 people; not to mention this new earthquake to have hit in China today killing 7,600 people already. what the hell is going on with the weather? i mean our own DFW has suffered softball size hail (four different times in just two months), and crazy summer weather. it was cold when i put my trash out this morning; plus we've had all kinds of tornadoes and one tornado hit allen, tx and wiped out half of stacy road. plus we've got earthquakes in Texas...wtf? if you've noticed...in the past couple of years we haven't had any bad hurricanes (bad enough to be on our weather channels in the United States)...if the weather is already acting up this close into the summer...i can only imagine what this year's hurricane season will end up being like. don't get me wrong...i don't want bad weather...but something's wrong...be it global warming, our world going to pot or whatnot...i hope everyone remains safe this year.
being productive
so yesterday...i was extremely productive. i got all my dishes done. i cleaned up all the paperwork in my gameroom, organized it and even organized my office closet and threw out/recycled a lot of stuff. tonight i plan on tackling my closet and hopefully this week i can come home to a perfectly clean house. yay. then...hopefully i can start on doing projects around my house...like painting, painting furniture, putting together furniture, etc etc.
commitment issues
so i've been talking to this guy that i know who moved up to So Cal about two years ago. recently (about three months ago) he contacted me out of the blue and told me he was coming back to dallas for a visit. i've been talking to him for some time...and it seems after everytime i talk with him...he's more hell bent on coming back for good and dating me. that scares me. it scares me because i like someone else...but in return...why should that scare me? i've always wanted the whole relationship deal. is it because he's not the one and i know it? do i really have a problem with commitment? am i not capable of loving someone? am i not capable of knowing when love is knocking on my doorstep? i wish life wasn't so complicated.
diet
eating right is hard. granted this past weekend...i made some really great sandwiches...had a lot of fruit and drank a lot of water...but keeping up with it is f-ing hard. sarah...i have been working out...although i didn't get much done this weekend because of my foot. but by october...i hope i will have lost at least 40 pounds.

my life right now
so some good things are going on in my life right now...despite the fact that i haven't found a better paying full-time job...but alas...
1) i got a free meal and two free drinks for cinco de mayo...our service was horrible...and when i say horrible...i mean horrible. while the service and long waits (try 2 hours for food and over an hour for drinks) were bad...I got to spend time with some of my friends and I definitely enjoyed seeing LeVon dance his ass off to win Alicia Keys tickets.
2) i got to sleep in today. today i took a day of vacation from work to do some much-needed errands and got a lot accomplished...like sleep.
3) i also got my hair cut...which is now really short. but i also got to donate 10 inches to Locks of Love. my hairdresser deserved his $10 tip too.
4) i had an AMAZING night last night (5/5/08)...no comment...but let's just say...men aren't too bad after all. :o)
5) did I say I was productive today? i was...i bought an organizer thingy for my mail in my office today...although i'm still searching for the best one...and i also loaded my fridge up with yummy meal stuff.
6) i'm losing inches...i feel it in the waistbands of my pants. i have yet to step on a scale tho.
7) did I mention that I had an amazing night last night?
8) i'm paying off debt...which is probably the greatest feeling in the world. possibly better than sex. i feel like i'm on top of my finances and it feels great to be paying off big portions of my credit cards.
9) i no longer need to buy XL shirts. i can fit into a regular size large at TAR-JAY! Hopefully that doesn't mean my rack is diminishing.
10) and one last time...i can't wait for another amazing night.

when life gets tough...
like for instance when you forget to pay your water bill and they shut off your water and you have to wash your face and brush your teeth with Ozarka...or you haven't heard from a job you interviewed for and you're getting antsy with anticipation...or you're worried about how you'll pay for a ticket...or tickets...it's just nice to see/experience the following:
1) someone jamming in their car...usually guys...because most hold back...but this one...he was really getting it. bangin' on the steering wheel like drums and singing into his cell phone, and doing the dance moves to god knows what song. you gotta love that.
2) a man (again)...picking his nose...and deep too.
3) putting on your clothes in the morning only to feel them be a little looser than they were a week ago.
4) coke floats...enough said.
5) being on time at work (i'm talking super early)...and when your boss asked you to get there at 9 a.m. and nothing later...seeing her ass walk in at 9:05a, 9:10a, 9:15a, or 9:20a. two can play that game bitch!
6) reading my boss' bad, bad, bad, bad copywriting skills for themes for our Annual Meeting.
7) getting in to work early and reading that the *important* people like the themes that you came up with...better than your boss'.
8) getting exercise out of the way early in the morning.
9) Funyuns
10) Being me.

I'm giving up
to the man i like:
Je ne vous comprends pas. Et qu'est avec la poignée de main? Vous êtes vraiment stupide. Un jour vous réveillerez et vous rendrez compte que vous m'aimez. Et quand ce jour vient, je me réveillerai à côté du type qui sait déjà.
i think it's about time I give up on you. you'll never figure it out. you'll never figure out that i've been standing here all this time...right in front of you.
