New Fab Workout

So an old college flame (my friend the pilot-to-be) came into town on Monday and we met up and had dinner and all that jazz. I'll skip the regular details and tell you about my new fab workout plan that he's helping me with. He lives in Chicago and in April is going to start training people to gain muscle and strength and lose weight. Perfect for me since I want to lose 40 pounds and tone up.

Fitness Plan
1) Warm-up for 5-10 minutes (cardio)

2) Stretch - it DOES do a world of difference
3) Ab-Core training (which hits all areas of the stomach and lower back region)
4) Cardio (more for how ever long I want)

I'm supposed to do this three times a week with other forms of cardio (swimming-which i love, eliptical, tennis) on the other days...with eventually incoporating bicep curls, exercises for the back, etc.

We worked out in the hotel yesterday and he made me do his ab-core workout...and i'm serious...never felt a burn like that in any ab training class or just working out on my own. He told me that in six weeks, i'd start to see definition in my stomach and i can't wait to see the results.

Size 6 here I come.

gas pains

no...i'm not smelling up my house...i'm literally pained to see gas prices inching up on me by the day.

gas has always been cheap in McKinney compared to Dallas and its surrounding areas...so I can only wonder what gas prices are like everywhere else if gas is $3.19 per gallon here.

you know how so many idiots send those "don't buy gas on this day" emails? they never work because people have to get to work...instead of sending out these ridiculous emails...why don't people just call in and say that can't come to work because they have no gas? i can see it now.

employee: hey mr. butkiss, um I'm not going to be able to make it today...or tomorrow...or at least until we get paid again.

boss: why the hell not?

employee: i paid all of my bills and I only allotted [dollar amount] to this [two weeks/or month] pay period for gas, and with gas prices going up...I'm just not going to be able to do it. I only have $5 to my name and you know $5 won't fill up my [Lincoln Navigator/TXU looking truck or the type of vehicle you drive].

now depending on how important your role is at your job and how much your boss really does like you...this could go two ways.

boss: get your ass in here, otherwise you're fired.
or
boss: well i understand, but I really need you right now...we have all these projects that have to get done. i'll spare you the money.

ROTFLMAO...yeah...the second one will never happen...b/c seriously? whose boss really likes their employees that much? BUT...if everyone in America did it...we could call it a STRIKE!

Right?

the hottest car around

If anyone knows me...I'm into cars. Luxury, sporty, concept...and I believe this now has to be my favorite concept car thus far.

Italdesign Giugiaro Quaranta

Quaranta is Italian for 40 and the name of this innovative concept car from ItalDesign Giugiaro, which was built to commemorate Giorgetto Giugiaro’s 40th year of auto design.

It is the first concept car to incorporate Toyota’s Hybrid Synergy Drive in a mid-engine layout. The idea was to create an extreme, but ecological, 4-wheel-drive supercar with a cabin big enough to accommodate three adults plus an infant.

The midship packaging of the hybrid powertrain enabled Giugiaro to create a one-volume, sleek silhouette shape, which is also critical to minimizing aerodynamic drag. In addition to the slick shape of the vehicle itself, the Quaranta incorporates rear aerodynamic flaps inspired by Formula 1. According to Italdesign, this low wind resistance enables the car to reach a top speed of 155 mph and to accelerate from 0 – 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.0 seconds.

155 mph in 4 seconds? Hells yes! Just think of the speeding tickets. Hell, no cops would be able to catch me...and just think I could add nitrous too. : ) *thinking about the possibilities*

The Quaranta is not simply a design exercise, but rather a way of showcasing the many talents of Italdesign Giugiaro. In addition to developing exterior and interior car designs, the Italian firm offers engineering services for chassis, mechanicals and bodywork, as well as research of the latest in automotive technology, as evidenced by the use of a solar panels to provide additional energy for the hybrid powerplant.

Dear Mr. Tar-zhay (Target)

Dear Mr. Tar-zhay and all of your clothing makers...

STOP making clothes in Taiwan where everyone that lives there is a size negative 8!

We are in Texas...and practically all cities in Texas are listed on the Fattest Cities List. We are not super thin girls! And to the girls that are...well...we (the curves here and there, with size 38D girls) wish we could fit into your clothes and we're a little jealous. Well...no...maybe I'm just a little jealous...jealous enough to not be able to fit in a size 6. BUT...I do like my curves, and I definitely like my boobs! So do men. : ) So um...no complaints there.

So I went to Target yesterday to check out the clearance...while I found two cute shirts (that I bought), I also found two cute dresses with arm holes the size of [super model] Kate Moss' finger.

Hell...I even went up several sizes just to see if the arm holes got any smaller. Unfortunately they didn't and at that point...my ass looked liked a frumped up mess in a size 28-30.

I feel like clothing designers are making their clothes smaller and smaller. Small enough to make average to bigger women feel like we're some of the fattest chicks on earth. What happened to embracing your curves and not trying to be like miss-i-throw-up-my-food-every-five-seconds model?

No wonder anorexia (sp) still exists...I mean if you look at Us Magazine...or OK Magazine...you'll read that Kate Hudson is putting on a little weight. The funniest article just recently was talking about 42-something-year-old Cindy Crawford who still has a bangin' body...and how she's gained a few pounds over the last couple of months. 1) she's f-ing 40 something. 2) get over it...she's still thin and 3) she's an f-ing supermodel.

It's just like how everyone talked about Tyra Banks getting fatter. As far as I know...on her Top Model Show...she still fits into the most sexiest skinny outfits seen. She is NOT fat. And trying on clothes shouldn't make us feel like that either.

Sincerely,

Size 12/14, 38Ds, moderate-sized toned arms...thank-you-very-much!

My interview:
Overall...I think the interview went really well. The position has been open since December and when I asked when they were looking to fill the position...tomorrow came up. So it looks like they want someone pronto...and possibly could be a little desperate. The position would be awesome...there would never be a dull/boring moment. There are pros and cons...like CON #1...I'd have to drive over to I-35 and the Toll. Which would be super far from McKinney...so extra gas...extra toll. But the possibly $35K more would make up for it??? We'll see. I don't want to get my hopes up, because it wasn't offered to me [yet]. I've already applied to three more jobs today...so maybe if the one I interviewed for doesn't pan out...the others will. But...they DID ask for my references...so yay for me.

procrastination and snow days and whatevs!

SNOW DAYS
i LOVE snow days! my company is letting us go at 3 p.m. today and i'm so glad. i have so much to do. i need to find my tax stuff so i can give it to my dad this weekend when they come up, i need to do dishes, i need to pick up my room and my house...hell i still need to empty boxes out. i'm really excited at the fact that i could not have to WORK tomorrow! yay!

PROCRASTINATION
So I have been procrastinating a lot lately. At work, with my freelance, looking for jobs, working out, getting my house together, my ticket. I need motivation. I've decided that my housewarming will be in April. Hopefully the weather will not be as nasty as it has been and hopefully I'll be in a new job and have more time then I currently have to fix up my house. I still have boxes in my utility room of kitchen dinnerware/utensils and appliances. I also really need to get on the bandwagon with looking for jobs. While I can't wait for that interview on Monday morning and while I'm SUPER-UBER EXCITED about it...I can't keep my hopes up...I might not be what they are looking for. I need to apply for more jobs...because I KNOW I can't stay at my current job any longer. I also need to start getting more freelance projects. Getting more projects should motivate me...because it would be like having a second income coming in. AND we all know that money makes the world go 'round. And the freakin' TICKET. I got a speeding ticket in March of 2007...St. Pattys Day. I have extended that hoe until, now...until May 14, 2008. Then I have to decide whether or not I am doing defensive driving (for the umpteenth time) or deferred ajudification. I mean...in March 2007...I should have gone ahead and paid the damn $201. Now I really can't afford it.

WHATEVER!
welcome to the wonderful world of WHATEVs! thanks Beverly for giving me the idea.

Whatev! to my boss who doesn't know how to use a freakin' computer at the age of 50-something!

Whatev! to my boss who is sitting in her office right now yelling at the fact that she can't figure out a freakin' excel spreadsheet that a 5th grader can work out.

Whatev! to my boss making one of the best graphic designers i know look bad in front of my department, and everyone else in the company.

Whatev! to my boss for saying, "i hope you don't have anything to do tonight, because you need to take this [project] home and finish it for my meeting tomorrow morning with the CFO". Do I look like her secretary?

Whatev! to where I work. Please let 3 p.m. come soon.

I'm so excited...I just can't hide it...

I am so glad Hillary won TEXAS! Hopefully she'll be able to pull through to the end! I think she'll make a wonderful leader and I can't wait to see her act in office! Yay Hillary!

On another note...things that have been going on.

I think someone is hiding in my house.
So lately I've been hearing noises in my house. Maybe it's because it's new and there are always going to be new noises in a new house, but am I making myself paranoid? Just the other day my attic door was closed and when I woke up this morning...it was more than cracked open. What if someone is watching me? I'm scared. I mean literally when I woke up this morning, I sat up looking at a cracked-open attic door and my heart literally stopped beating.

Exes.
Why are exes so f-ing dumb? While I've basically remained close friends with everyone I've ever dated/been in a relationship with...exes are still dumb.

CASE 1
His name: Lawrence.
Where we met: I don't even remember, but we broke up my senior year of college...which was obviously (omigod...I'm getting old) almost five years ago.

So one day like about three weeks ago, I get an email from
sixfootsixman@hotmail.com asking me if this is still my email address and if I can pray for his mother who has cancer.

First of all...I know a shitload of men that are 6'6" and I have never seen this email in my life. Second, who writes, "hey, is this still your email? pray for my mom, she has cancer" to someone you haven't talked to in ALMOST FIVE YEARS! He never even left his name.

So I write back asking who the person is so I can promptly send my regards...and he writes back saying it's him and to call him. I felt bad for his mother, but the pain that guy put me through...oh hell naw! First the mother fucker cheated. Then I got letters from him stating that I had messed up his relationship with the other girl. WTF? You are the bastard that cheated your little ass off...the letters were vicious...even my friends thought so.

So I wrote him back.

Dear Lawrence,
Are you serious? You ask me to pray for your mom who has cancer (in which I'm truly sorry)...and then you say to call you??? One, I don't have your number...in fact I deleted you the minute you wrote me that series of hateful-ass letters about me and our relationship...and you have the gall to contact me? I don't think so... Two, while I consider myself a VERY nice person...and while I really am sorry about your mother...please delete my email address from your contacts, as we have nothing to speak about...ever.

So he writes back:

God be with you, thanks for your support....don't worry i won't ever contact you again. but you are deleted, and likewise don't respond or contact back. TRUST YOU WILL NOT EVER BE SPOKEN TO EVER!

Stupid mother-fuckers...you're the dumbass who wrote me in the first place. Ugh. Men!

CASE 2:
His name: Kelvin

We dated: here and there for two to three months.
Where we met: Match.com, Dallas, TX

Lately I've been getting a series of texts/calls/emails from him stating that he'd like me to create some marketing materials for him for his business. I am okay with that...b/c frankly I could use the money. Plus the contract I'd be signing calls for some big bucks. I'm talking thousands...and he wouldn't NOT be able to pay me.

So...all is great...but then I've also gotten a lot of calls/texts stating that he wants to win me back/and blah blah blah. I wore my heart on my sleeve for this one and it ended horribly. Talk about crying ridiculously. What the hell? Why after guys break your heart, they realize that they shouldn't have? Ugh!

Slacking off.
So I can honestly say that I haven't been a good employee lately. I don't want to go to work anymore...in fact I don't even want to get up in the mornings, therefore I end up coming to work late. I really need either a vacation or just some time off...but when does the endless work ever stop?

Interview.
On another note...I did it! I got an interview with the academic job! I'm so excited. It's next Monday at 9 a.m. This would be such a great opportunity for me...b/c I could go back and get my masters...use the facilities, take dance classes, work out at their gym...play tennis whenever I wanted. It would be awesome. Plus the money would all be worth it...as well as the position. Yay for me!

My mom winning.
So my mom won Ft. Bend by like 9,000 or so votes and in her own county and another county by some thousand or so votes...completely beating her republican candidate...so if the Democrats get out and vote again in November, she'll win. Yay!

i'm not dead

Yep that's right folks...my janitor/doctor guy didn't turn out to be some serial killer and throw by body in the Trinity River. Do I forsee marriage and kids? Definitely not. Friends...maybe. If he can get over losing to me. My god!

Let me tell you all about my date. I'm going to go at this almost-Ambular style...Amber...if I'm leaving something out...please let me know.

Name:
Emmanuel
Age: 30
Occupation: Doctor...um sort of

Where I Met Him: Myspace
When I Met Him: I thought about a month ago...he confirmed it was two months ago. Sorry...I'm really bad with dates. No wonder I did poorly in History.
Style of Dress: Khaki/White-ish pants, going-bowling type of shirt (black/gray), leather jacket (brown)
What Caught My Attention: He went to Medical School in Pittsburgh...and I saw that on his profile...my dad grew up around the area...I haven't been there in a long time...and I was asking him if a place I knew about was still there...(it's not), but our conversation started from there.

Our Date
When:
Thursday night 6:45p

Where: We met at Buffalo Wild Wings in Plano (I wanted simple and casual)

So we get there...he opens the door. Great...he's a gentleman. We sit down and talk a mile a minute and he's asking me questions, some he should probably already remember from our emails...but maybe he's confirming? I'm trying to learn about his doctor/sort-of occupation. Turns out he quit residency midway and thought he wanted to go into sales...but didn't realize this until he came back to Dallas to actually go through with it again?...so is now working in a doctor's office as an Office Manager/let-me-take-your-blood-pressure,-sit-you-in-the-back-room-and-take-your-temperature type. Apparently he can work as a doctor in Pittsburgh if he went back...but I'm going to go with a big fat "NO".

By the way...his breath was not cool. Not that I smell like roses all the time...but pop a mint into your mouth before you go out on a date!!!!!!!

So we order our food...and he's reading the menu and here starts the ego. If any of you have been to BWW...you'll know that you can get your picture taken and a free t-shirt if you eat 12 blazin' hot wings in six minutes. So dorko shouts out..."I'm going to do it...that's easy. I love spicy food." At this point...I'm really wishing I could slap my forehead...but I refrain from doing so and just let him do whatever he wants. It's his mouth and not-so-HOT breath.

So the waiter guy shows up and tells him that it's really hard...mr. doctor is asking if he can get a free meal. Waiter says no. I kid you not...Mr. Doctor asked like four more times if the waiter was sure he couldn't get a free meal out of it. Cheap ass. The wings (on Thursdays) are $.50 a piece. We both had 12...that's $6 a piece. Get over it.

Long story short...he orders four Blazin' Hot boneless and ends up drinking two glasses of water within a minute...

So this is not even it...you know the Trivia game that you can play as well...while you're eating? We decide to play. I beat him 9,743 to 4,000-something. He kept talking about how he wasn't on his A-game. Yeah dude...you were on your F-game...and his breath was still kickin' at this point. Too bad I left my gum in my car. Anyways...so he wants to play me again..."okay" I say. So he beats me...by all of 200 points. Then he says he wants to play another...I say "okay" again...and we play. He beats me A-GAIN....but I'm cool with it...it was already starting to hit 9:20 p.m. and we were supposed to go to Main Event to play pool. Well he says he wants to play another game...so he can give me a chance to win. Okay seriously...I knew then we'd have a problem. It's a trivia game...I guessed on practically all of my answers in order to win the first time. So anyways...we play again...guess what....yes...you guessed right...I BEAT HIM! 11, 978 points. Yes guys...me.

Side note: While we're eating AND playing the game AND talking, we also watched the Spurs and the Mavs game. I had a really hard time going for the Mavs. I mean the Spurs were my all-time favorite team before I became a Mavs fan...and since they traded by rat-faced boyfriend Devin...I just can't seem to cheer for the Mavs anymore...I mean seriously...who cares about Jason Kidd?

Did I mention that Mr. Doctor is short. On his profile it says he's 5'10"...but I think he's a really, really, really short 5'10". Not cool. Thank goodness I wore flats.

So back to the date...so we get to Main Event...now in college...I did a semester of a billiards league and bowling league...I'm okay...I'm decent. I told him that I was good...but I hadn't play in awhile...it's true...I probably haven't played since last year sometime? My friend D would know. I usually play with him.

So we get our pool sticks....some chalk...and he asks me to break. The first time was not funny. I didn't even hit the balls. So we did a redo. This time...I sunk in two. By the end of the game...I had won...and he was sulking. Again he told me that he wasn't on his A-game...still. So we played again. I won again...and then I lost two consecutive games. The whole time I was losing, he was spouting off, "you need to watch your technique" or "let me show you how it's really done" and better yet "i can always take your hand and show you how to hold a stick".

Okay...that's another thing. Dude was tapping my legs with his stick and my butt to sometimes move me out of the way and stuff. We are not even there dude. I am a flirt. A big time flirt. Usually when I'm liking you...you know it. If I'm even remotely digging you in that way...I'm going to try and distract you while I'm losing and sit on the hole--it totally works. Plus...I sometimes use my flirty line that goes, "better watch out...or I'll beat you up" - works like a charm (usually---there ARE some men that are dense)...but "better watch out...or I'll beat you up" means "I want to wrestle...I think you're hot...and I want to be in your arms...as we make out like teenagers in a truck at the football game"...okay maybe not so corny...but you get the jist.

Anyways...dude didn't need to be making comments or tapping me with his cue stick. We are NOT on the same page. So after he thinks he's on this winning streak...again, long story short...I beat him [overall] 6-2. Man I'm good.

So we're leaving and I totally did the whole I'm-your-5th-cousin-removed-hug and told him I had a wonderful evening. I mean...the dude is really smart....and he's done a lot and has a lot of great stories...I just can't do the ego.

Today 3-1-08
I saw Hillary at a rally in Fort Worth today...it was awesome and so empowering. She of course, looked great in her pant suit. I really think she'll make the best leader for now. I hope she wins.

BTW...totally saw my future husband today. He was at the rally. Tall, barely-there tan, Matthew-Fox look-a-like, nice lips, knuckle-cracked hands (my fav),
brown hair, broad shoulders, freckles.... too bad he's a secret service man!

Well that is all I have for today...have a good night...I'm going to bed.

My Music
